Adult Craft: Making a Half Apron with a Pocket
Adult Craft: Making a Half Apron with a Pocket: Three-hour sewing class with instructor Karen Gulotta to make a half apron with a pocket. Participants must bring a sewing machine with supplies and the machine manual; one yard of cotton fabric (stripes and one-way designs are more difficult); scissors that can cut fabric; a pencil; a ruler and/or measuring tape; straight pins; and coordinating thread. This project is machine-sewn (not by hand); students without a machine are encouraged to share with a friend in the class. Fabric can be ordered from Amazon or other online sources; local stores that carry fabric include Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and sometimes Walmart; Sew Right (Bayside) and Northshore Quilting (Huntington) are also mentioned. A $5 non-refundable check payable to "Hillside Public Library" or exact cash is due a week before the class; if payment is not received by Saturday, September 26, registration will be cancelled. Out-of-district registration begins Tuesday, Sept. 15, 10 AM.
